Hawes Education · Personal prototype
Making learning feel
closer to home.
Practical ideas and learning context for families.
Working private prototype. Foundation activities are available; Year 1 and Year 2 remain in development.
The starting point
A little time. A place to begin.
As a parent, I wanted to understand Foundation learning and find practical things to do with my child. Public curriculum and lesson resources contain useful material, but it takes work to turn that reading into something manageable at home.
I began with Victorian curriculum and ARC lesson resources, organised the source material, and explored how an activity could give a parent a clear first step.
My contribution
From research to something to try.
I researched the public curriculum and lesson resources, organised the material and set the direction for the product. I designed the activity structure and used AI to help build and refine the interface.
My decisions centred on small activities, clear instructions and room for families to adapt. I review what the tools produce and use those checks to guide changes to the content and experience.
How it is developing
Bringing the parts together.
The project began as a parent companion. I later separated out the activity collection so families could start with something practical. Activities now links to the original Parent Hub and a weekly prototype. I am working towards a simpler experience that brings these parts together.
A deliberate boundary
Helpful context, with room for the family.
A curriculum source can explain a learning idea. It does not confirm what an individual teacher has assigned or when a school will teach it. These are optional home activities, separate from school instructions.
What still needs testing
Learning from real use.
Development and interface checks do not establish learning outcomes. Testing complete journeys with families remains a next step.
